And now, it seems Tax Heaven 3000 has been punished as such. The show follows the story of two high school friends, Lee Wan (played by Lee Jong-hyuk) and Shin Ki-tae (played by Lee Seung-gyu).
“Tax Heaven 3000 is designed to prepare 2022 US federal income tax returns for single filers without dependents,” the still-extant Itch.io page says. QR codes — which use a scannable design of black and white squares — have been in widespread use since the mid-2010s. The code, when scanned using your smartphone’s camera, will open a link, in this case to a restaurant’s menu page. Now, there’s another Colonel Sanders in I Love You, Colonel Sanders!

While this unusual dating sim boasts a unique approach to an interactive tax system parody, some other games already tackled similar themes. One such recent attempt came in the form of a lovable adventure puzzler Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion which released for the Switch and PC in 2021 before making its way to Xbox Game Pass, PS4, and mobile devices a year later.
